Antebellum Portrait of Young Lady in Original Frame – This oil on canvas portrait, dates to the 1840s or 1850s and depicts a young lady, sitting with her hands clasped in her lap and a hinged and clasped album on the table beside her. She is simply attired, in a period style dress. The canvas, while needing some cleaning, is in overall very strong condition; the painting is in its original stretcher and frame, which is a fine silvered and lemon gilt, multi-tiered frame. The painting is unsigned and measures as follows: Frame size – 43” x 36”; Sight size – 35.25” x 26.5”.
