Antebellum to Civil War Period High Quality Spurs and Bootstraps
Antebellum to Civil War Period High Quality Spurs and Bootstraps – These spurs are obviously of private purchase origin; they were constructed of brightly gilded, cast brass. The spurs are delicately designed and evidence decorative incising on both the heel arms and rowel projections. The entirety of both spurs, including the rowel, which is cast brass, as well as the heavy brass strap buckles, are highly gilded. These spurs retain both original bootstraps, which are in fair condition, with some weak areas. These are superior examples of fine antebellum or Civil War officer’s spurs.
