Civil War Fired Bullet in Wood Found Near the Battle of Sayler’s Creek – This lengthy segment of Southern yellow pine was excavated in the late 60s near the Battle of Sayler’s Creek, in Amelia County, Virginia. The wood remains in good condition; the fired bullet lodged in the wood appears to be a three-ring, .58 cal. rifled musket, Minie ball – the bullet is clearly recognizable and in good condition. The wood is 21.25” in length.
