Excavated Confederate Unfired Braun Shell

Excavated Confederate Unfired Braun Shell – This 3” Braun shell was excavated in the 1960s in Amelia County, Virginia near the battlefield of the Battle of Sayler’s Creek. These shells saw limited use by the Confederate Artillery and are occasionally excavated at late war sites. The shell is in excellent dug condition and retains some of its original fuse, as well as its brass / copper sabot ring, exhibiting its expansion saw cuts. We have had the shell disarmed.
