Dug M1858 Bullseye Canteen

Dug M1858 Bullseye Canteen – Over many years of relic hunting, I personally found several canteens, although all were not in particularly good condition. This bullseye canteen is by far the best, relic canteen that we have had and one of the best we have ever encountered. The body of the canteen still has several areas of shiny, tinned, original surface visible; there are only two or three insignificant pinholes in the body, which has some light rust over most of its tinned iron surface. All three of the sling guides remain in place and in relatively strong condition. The pewter mouthpiece is complete, structurally sound and firmly affixed to the body of the canteen. Unfortunately, we do not know where this fine, dug canteen was recovered.
