Complete Dug M1858 Civil War Smooth Side Canteen – We obtained this canteen from the family of the collector / digger who had amassed a large and significant collection, starting in the early 1970s. The canteen retains its pewter spout and segments of the sling guides; the body of the canteen exhibits, on one side, areas of its original tinning. Overall, the canteen remains in great dug condition, with some minor oxidation holes and general covering of surface rust.
