$575
Original Civil War Period Box of Sharps Carbine and Rifle Cartridges Containing Three Remaining Sharps Linen Cartridges – This pasteboard, Civil War period box originally contained ten Sharps linen cartridges; when we obtained the open box, it still held three, .52 cal. cartridges, which remain in excellent condition. This is a two-piece box, with both top and bottom covered with beige paper. The original printed label on the top half of the box reads as follows:
“10 CARTRIDGES

52/100 CALIBER.
A Superior Quality of Powder is used, made by
A.G. Fay, Potter & Tolman, Boston, Mass.
ADDRESS,
SHARPS RIFLE MANUF’G CO.
HARTFORD, CONN.”
These original boxes are rarely found today; this example and the remaining three cartridges are in overall very good condition.
