Hand Forged 18th to Early 19th Century Door Knocker with Heart Escutcheons – This finely executed and rare iron, blacksmith crafted door knocker has its two original, heart-shaped escutcheons accompanying the knocker. Traces of original red, buttermilk paint remain on the back of one of the hearts, indicating the color of the door to which the knocker was originally affixed. The knocker measures as follows: Height – 6.5”; Width of knocker section – 3.75”; Width of Hearts – 3”.
