Russet Brown Leather Confederate Percussion Cap Box with Lead Finial – We have had several Confederate cap boxes, but this example remains in the best condition of the various boxes we have had; it is constructed of somewhat crudely sewn, russet brown leather, that remains in overall excellent condition. The box exhibits a shield front style cover, with a single, wide belt loop and an inner pouch flap; the latch tab is missing. The closure finial is made of well-formed lead. Scratched on the interior of the main closure cover is a name, which we have not been able to discern. This is a superb example of a Confederate percussion cap box.
