Civil War 8 Inch Mortar Ball Excavated in Petersburg – This excellent condition, 8 inch mortar ball was excavated in the Petersburg area; it has been skillfully cleaned, exhibiting a smooth surface and is free of any flaking. There are two “ears” or tong holes for hoisting the heavy, 75 lb. ball into the gun; the fuse hole is open to a clean, unloaded interior.
