Three Dug / Excavated Civil War Lock Plates from the Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Area – We recently obtained a large collection of excavated artifacts from a long time relic hunter who searched primarily in Amelia County, Virginia, in the late 60s to the mid-70s; he hunted along the retreat route and around the Sailor’s Creek battlefield. Amongst the varied array of artifacts he discovered, were these three lock plates; each is described below, with pricing:

2 – M1861 Springfield Lock Plate, Butt Plate, Nose Cap – $65

3 – Enfield P53 Lock Plate Dated 1862 with Trace of Crown Stamping – $45
