Unissued Pair of U.S. M1872 – 1874 Indian War Boots

Unissued Pair of U.S. M1872 – 1874 Indian War Boots – This pair of early Indian War boots, which are harder to find than Civil War boots, are in unissued condition. The wooden pegged soles appear to have never hit the ground; the double rows of diamond-shaped pegs are very similar to the attachment mode of Civil War boot soles. The nailed heels are in equally fine, unissued condition. The leg shaft and foot / vamp areas of the boots are in fine condition, and the heel exteriors exhibit stitching and reinforcing small rivet like devices; the upper knee exteriors have some obvious storage wear, with some cracking to one and finish scuffing to both. The interiors of both boots are in superior, unused condition. Both pairs of boot pulls are in fine shape, as well, and exhibit a single reinforcing rivet at the base of the exterior of each pull. These are superb examples of early Indian War mounted troop boots.
