Excavated Civil War Federal Issue Picket Pin – We recently obtained a highly significant,  50 year collection of primarily excavated artifacts that included this Federal Issue picket pin in fine, dug condition. The pin, an essential component of Civil War cavalry troopers, retains its figure eight, tether ring, which can still swivel; the surface of the pin and ring exhibit surface rust, but no flaking. This is a superior example of a dug picket pin. The pin measures approximately 13.5″ in length.
