Civil War Period Tin Powder Flask Found in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia
$275
Civil War Period Tin Powder Flask Found in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia ā This flask was originally found in Augusta County in the Valley of Virginia. The flask was seemingly made by a professional, period tinsmith and exhibits two soldered halves, cap and pour spout; attached to each side of the flask are small, wire rings for strap attachment. Many Confederate soldiers, at the onset of hostilities, carried shotguns, which would have required the use of a powder flask. This flask, which is the only ātinā (sheet iron) example we have seen, remains in very good condition, with some very minor dings. The flask measures about 7.5ā in length.
