Rare Non Dug Texas Coat Button – These buttons have always been extremely difficult to find; we recently obtained this, as well as a few other choice, non dug buttons, from a descendant of renown journalist and historian, Virginius Dabney; apparently, Mr. Dabney maintained a modest collection of Civil War, primarily Confederate, memorabilia, to include this button and a few others, which we also obtained. This button remains in superior condition, exhibiting the early Confederate back mark “HYDE & GOODRICH * NEW ORLEANS” – impressed marking; the shank remains firmly in place.
