Dug Civil War Officer’s Whiskey Decanter from Union Camp at Brandy Station

Dug Civil War Officer’s Whiskey Decanter from Union Camp at Brandy Station – This fluted sides decanter was excavated in a Federal camp at Brandy Station. The decanter has decorative fluted sides and appears to have been poured into a mold during its construction; on the lip of the spout are remnants of decorative silvering. The decanter retains a pleasing aqua green color with numerous bubbles in the glass; it remains in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks; there is some staining to the interior. This is an unusual piece of dug glassware.
