Dug Civil War US Belt Plate and Cartridge Box Plate – Bermuda Hundred and the James River

Dug Civil War US Belt Plate and Cartridge Box Plate – These two dug, US plates remain in overall very good, dug condition; the belt plate retains the two arrow style, belt hooks and the flat prong, closure hook; the box plate retains both cover attachment loops. The belt plate was excavated, in the 1980s, in the Bermuda Hundred area, near City Point, just west of the current city of Hopewell. The cartridge box plate was found by a relic hunter who did some diving in search of relics, in the 80s; the plate was found by him in the James River, not far from Bermuda Hundred.
