More Dug Artifacts / Relics from the Sailor’s Creek Battlefield Area – We recently obtained a large collection of excavated artifacts from a long time relic hunter who searched primarily in Amelia County, Virginia and in the Petersburg area, in the late 60s to the mid-70s; he hunted along the retreat route and around the Sailor’s Creek battlefield, as well. Amongst the varied array of artifacts he excavated were the following:

1 – Brass flag pole staff cup / end – $15

2 – Scabbard section from cavalry saber – $15

3 – Artillery trace chain – $35

4 – Saber bayonet scabbard throat – $15 – SOLD

5 – Enfield / Tower rifled musket butt plate – $20

6 – M1861 Springfield rifled musket nose cap – $5

7 – P53 Enfield / Tower rifled musket brass nose cap – $10

8 – Front and rear cantles from Grimsley saddle – $15
