Stamped in the brass ring, just above the wood covering,\ of the large tube, is the following:
“ASHMORE & OSBORNE
DAY OR NIGHT
LONDON”
Ashmore & Osborne are listed in “Pigot and Co.’s National Commercial Directory for 1828 – 9”, a London published directory of businesses in operation in those years.
