Collection of Identified Post-Civil War Officer’s Swords

Collection of Identified Post-Civil War Officer’s Swords – This sizable collection of post-Civil War, U.S. Army, military officer’s swords are almost all identified by the etched name of the former sword owner, on the sword’s blade. This impressive group of swords, all of which date from the 1870s to just prior to WWI, was collected by a retired army officer over a number of years; this collector did extensive research on each of the original, period sword owners – he compiled a notebook for each of the sword’s original owners – we will provide the appropriate notebook to the buyer of any of the swords. All of the swords remain in excellent condition, with a couple of minor exceptions; all retain, again with a few exceptions, their original, and in some cases, highly ornate scabbards. Principally, the swords are strictly military, GAR or high end Masonic weapons. The sheer number of swords precluded us from enumerating details for each of the sword’s ID’d original owner, but anyone interested in a specific sword, we encourage you to contact us, and we will provide all pertinent information. The swords average between $250 and $450 in price, so again, please contact us with any questions regarding a specific sword. ***

***There are 41 swords in this collection, so we will be gradually listing them in groups, with each sword numbered; questions should specify the Sword Group number and specific sword number.
