National Arms Company.32 Caliber Teat Fire Revolver – This attractive, diminutive, revolver, was manufactured by the National Arms Company of Brooklyn, NY; it dates to some time, shortly after the Civil War. This teat fire, front loading revolver with a hooked extractor, is often referred to as a “MOORE’S PATENT FIREARMS COMPANY FRONT LOADING REVOLVER”. This .32 caliber revolver has a stamped, serial number of 269483, and a 3.25″ barrel; overall length is 7”. The bore is dirty, but exhibits rifling. Lightly stamped, but clearly visible, on the barrel is: “National Arms Company, Brooklyn, NY“; on the cylinder is stamped: “D. Williamson’s Patent- Jan 5-May17, 1864“. The iron elements of the pistol exhibit an even, plum patina; the engraved, brass frame, in overall good condition, has a nice, mellow, aged patina. The grips are somewhat worn, exhibiting some finish loss and wear scratches. The pistol functions, although the cylinder does not index; this latter issue can be readily repaired.
