Vermont Pre-Civil War Militia Coat Button – This one-piece, early Vermont, militia coat button, retains some gilt or silver plating on the back of the button, with traces remaining on the front; the button remains in overall excellent condition. The back mark reads:
“R & W. ROBINSON .ATTLEBOROUGH. EXTRA.*.*.*.*RICH.*.*.*.*”
The button is VT5 in Albert’s book and VT205A1, in Tice’s book and measures: 21.75 mm.
