Civil War Officer’s Silk Sash – This sash is an excellent example of a Civil War period, regulation, officer’s silk sash. The sash is full length and is in excellent condition, with no tears or holes in the silk. The color remains a deep, near maroon-red; the knots and tassels do exhibit some fading, but the knots are in very good condition, as are the tassels. We are finding that obtaining good condition, Civil War sashes is now becoming difficult.
